I am an experienced digital forensics examiner with expertise in corporate fraud, labor disputes, domestic relations, child pornography, the Adam Walsh Act, electronic discovery, the work product doctrine, and the attorney client privilege. I have been involved in legal field for the last 12 years and information technology —namely, software engineering, regulatory compliance, and information security— for the last 16 years.  I have been certified since 2006 on the LexisNexis CaseMap suite.  Although I am not an attorney, I am a jurisdoctorate candidate, and have been retained to conduct legal research and draft appellate briefs by practicing attorneys.  I am available to serve not only as a digital forensics examiner, but also as an expert witness and court-appointed third-party neutral.  I have extensive experience in litigation, including electronic discovery, the Rules of Evidence, the Rules of Civil Procedure, motions practice, pre-trial practice, and appellate practice.[1]

I first moved to Minnesota in 2003 to accept a position as a software and information security analyst with a large financial institution. Since 2005, I have been the proprietor of Attorney Client Privilege, LLC, a digital forensics and information security firm in the Twin Cities area.   I have authored scores of articles and presented several CLEs on the topics of digital forensics technology & e-discovery best practices, information security, and legal IT, and am the most prolific blog contributor to the MSBA’s Computer & Technology Law Section (http://mntech.typepad.com).   In January, 2011, I was elected as an officer to the board of the Minnesota chapter of the HTCIA. I am a contributing blog author for ForensicFocus.com.

Although I do not perform computer helpdesk services (e.g., network troubleshooting and installation, virus removal, etc.), I offer information security services to law firms and corporations, including incident response, data breach prevention, network intrusion penetration testing, and security audits.

I maintain professional credentials and certifications in the areas of digital forensics (CHFI No. ECC930566), information security (CISSP No. 335034), regulatory compliance (CSOXP No. 00185), and network engineering MCSE, MCP+i, No. 977426), and have the experience necessary to help my lawyer clients meet the dynamic challenges of digital forensics, electronic discovery, data breaches, and child pornography cases.
